Daily Announcements 2.10.25

Good morning Falcons.

Today is Monday, February 10th and it is a B Day.

Today’s Black History Month spotlight is on Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges is famous for being the first African American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. Her bravery and actions helped pave the way for civil rights in the United States. In 1960, at age six, Ruby became the first African American child to attend William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans. She had to be escorted to school by federal marshals, and her experience was harrowing due to racism and threats. However, she never missed a day of school. Ruby is now a civil rights advocate who continues to speak out against racism.

On Tuesday, February 11, during POD, we will hold a BIPOC space in room 316. Interested individuals should see Mr. Dinzeo for a pass.

Dance & Drama students who signed up to attend August Wilson's "Two Trains Running" at Fuller Hall in St. Johnsbury must meet in the auditorium this Wednesday, February 12th @ 5:15pm to catch the bus. We will return around 9:30/10pm.

Dance Company will be attending an Aerial/Expressive Arts workshop in Burlington this Friday, February 14th. Dancers must meet in the auditorium @ 7:15am to catch the bus. We will return around 5/5:30pm.

The new date for Dancing with the Staff is Monday, February 17th. Time: 7:00pm.

Winter Carnival Snowmobile Ride, February 21st: Permission forms to participate can be found in the Main Office. In order to be eligible for the ride, students must be dressed appropriately and with a bagged lunch. Snow machines must be full of gas and in good mechanical condition. A valid VAST season pass and current insurance are required.

Students who need bus passes: If you will be riding a different bus in the afternoon, we have to hear from your parent/guardian that you have permission. We need to know BEFORE the end of the day when buses are leaving. Waiting until the last call for buses is NOT the appropriate time to request a pass. Please plan ahead.

Reminder that this Friday, February 14th, is an early release day for students.
